Traditional Wallpaper Installation
-
Traditional wallpaper is typically sold in rolls and installed in individual strips that align to create a repeating pattern. It may be woven or nonwoven and is often supplied without adhesive on the back.
Depending on the product, adhesive may be applied directly to the wall or to the wallpaper before installation. Marlie Sue & Co. follows the manufacturer’s instructions to select the correct adhesive and installation method for every material.
-
Wallpaper quantity is determined by more than square footage. The width of the paper, length of each roll, height of the walls, and pattern repeat all affect how many usable strips can be cut.
Common pattern matches include:
Straight match
Half-drop or offset match
Random match
Reverse hang
Large repeats and half-drop patterns generally create more material waste, so using a basic online square-footage calculator may leave you without enough wallpaper.

Photos or a video of the room
Information about angled or unusually shaped walls
We can calculate the recommended quantity before you order. All wallpaper should be purchased at the same time to reduce the risk of dye-lot differences, and keeping additional material is recommended for future repairs.
